20.Ebisu shrine
In 1470, Gonnosuke Maruyama as a Shinto priest in Mukouda district enshrined a division of Miho shrine’s tutelary deity from Izumo to Mt. Ikina in Sunoue.
Ebisu is the god who presides over happiness, prosperity, thriving business and sea.
Tarobaru Nishihara (an occupational post of administering the affairs of a Shinto shrine) renamed this shrine’s kanji name from “蛭子神社” to “恵比須神社” at the time of the Meiji Restoration.
