The main gate of Anrakuji
This gate is Onarigomon which was built in the Tensho era (1572-1592) brought over from Mihara castle and reassembled in 1877. It is one of the Mihara municipal designated cultural properties.
Onarigomon is one of the four-foot gates that were built for meeting nobles and showing the power of Daimyos each other from the Muromachi era through the Edo era. In the present, it shows us the high culture standard at that time.
The honzon (the principal image of worship) of Anrakuji is Dainichi Nyorai belonging to Shingon Sect.
