24.Sanjusan Kannon-zo on Mt. Tera
The Tenmei Famine had an impact on this island from 1783 to 1784, and a large number of people starved to death.
Then the fifth chief priest of Anrakuji, Nincho Yushin, proposed its Buddhist parishioners to make 33 statues of Kannon-zo for praying for a good harvest and safety of their families.
Each of the statues was made by the each family of the parishioners at that time.
