Sagishima is located on the Seto Inland Sea and known for the closest island to shinkansen stop in Japan.

It takes 5 minutes to walk from Mihara station to Mihara port, and 25 minutes ferry travel from Mihara port to Sagishima port.

And Sagishima is warm at all seasons, where tourists could enjoy their trip comfortably.

The Sagishima Alpine Route crosses the mountain range at approximately 250 m, and then Triathlon Rally is held in August, every year.

The main industry is agriculture, such as growing citrus, wakegi (like scallion), melon, and watermelon.
